IT Vision
The State’s vision is to rank among the top-3 IT States
in India by 2010 and be a premier high-end IT hub in Asia. The objective
is to contribute between 15% and 20% of the nation’s total
IT revenues. The target is 15 - 20% of BPO and call centre revenues
in ITES, and 10 - 15% of software services exports and 25% of all
product development/R&D outsourcing in ITS revenues. The goal
is to achieve a leadership position in knowledge services and animation.
West Bengal’s value proposition to investors, as outlined
in the five enablers mentioned above, is best suited to diverse
knowledge-based applications. Concrete actions will be taken by
the State to further strengthen that value proposition by focusing
on six key imperatives as given below :
