SEZ), ICICI-WINFRA organized various road shows in cities
like Mumbai, Delhi, Surat, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. Officials of
ICICI-WINFRA visited various cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad,

- For marketing Toy Industrial Park, ICICI-WINFRA
prepared information brochure, application kits and other promotional
literature. ICICI-WINFRA officials went to Germany for participating
in International Trade Fair at Nurenburg for this project. The
result is very promising – 100% of the space in the park
is sold well before completion.
- For the restructuring of Bengal Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals
Ltd. (BCPL) a sick unit under BIFR, ICICI-WINFRA has
found out a suitable buyer for a 4 acre plot of land belonging
to BCPL with the restriction on residential use. After this deal
BCPL will come out of the purview of BIFR.
- For development of two green-field mega coal mines at
North Karanpura Coalfields of Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) by
Coal India Limited with private participation, ICICI-WINFRA analysed
various options and then suggested the route of Joint Venture.
As the structure suggested was first of its kind, ICICI-WINFRA
initiated discussions with many leading national & international
mining companies who showed extensive interest in the project
and based on this feedback ICICI-WINFRA submitted a Project Attractiveness
Report.
- ICICI-WINFRA worked with Jharkhand State Mineral Development
Corporation (JSMDC) for selecting Joint Venture Partner for captive
coal mining projects. ICICI-WINFRA evaluated the bids received
by JSMDC and based on its recommendations, suitable JV partners
were selected by JSMDC and commencement of work has also started.
- Due to its parentage, ICICI-WINFRA has strong bondage
with multinational agencies like World Bank, Asian Development
Bank, JBIC and hence was instrumental in convincing the Asian
Development Bank to take up the West Bengal North South Corridor
Project during a meeting with ADB officials in Manila as part
of West Bengal delegation in 1998. Finally, ADB has provided a
loan of USD 210 million for implementation of this project.
